Extemp draw is in room 508. Extemp topics will be emailed out to all teams that have pre-registered on Speechwire on Sunday 1/28/2024.

Judges:

Please help us out by bringing judges. The more judges you bring, the more smoothly the tournament will run.  Each school must provide judges based on competitors: trained judge for every 5 event entries (or portion thereof) and 1 trained judge for every 2 debate entries (or portion thereof). Any school not meeting their quota of judges will be fined a $50 fee.  This is unpleasant for everyone, so please spare us all.  Please remind your judges to turn in ballots within 10 minutes of a round’s completion.

We are running electronic ballots so please have your judges bring a laptop to submit ballots on. All judges will need to check in via our raptor system. They will need to bring a valid ID.

Judges will be paid $10 per round.

Doubling:

Students may enter in one Wave A and one Wave B event (But they cannot double in two debate events).  Extempers who double need to understand that they may lose part of their prep time if their other event goes long.

Awards: 1st-3rd Place will be given an award straight from Hollywood, an Oscar😊

First place will be awarded a large plaque. Second and third place finishers will be given a small  Other finalists will be given a ribbon.  Team Sweepstakes will be given a Large Oscar award as well.

If your kids choose to use a delivery service, they need to make sure of a delivery spot. DCC staff will not be at the front to meet them.

For lunch, we will sell Domino’s large, single topping pizzas for $12 each for lunch. Order them in the cafeteria between 7-8AM on day of. Pizza can be added your teams invoice if the coach orders them.
