The Elmwood-Murdock Speech Team cordially invites you and your team to the 2nd annual Elmwood-Murdock Silver Sword Invite on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.

We will offer two preliminary rounds and finals of all ten NSAA events. Medals will be awards for 1st-6th place in each event and plaques will be given to the top two sweepstakes teams. We are proud to be a NIETOC bid tournament this year. Depending on the number of entries will determine how many finalists will earn bids. Due to the size of our school, we will most likely fall in the first two levels. This will be communicated with you once registration closes.

From the NIETOC:

Bids are gained at the following levels for each event:

0-19 contestants = FIRST PLACE BID

20-34 contestants = FIRST, SECOND & THIRD PLACE BIDS

35-50 contestants = FINAL ROUND BIDS

51-70 contestants = SEMIFINAL ROUND BIDS (HONORS FINALS)

71-99 contestants = QUARTERFINAL ROUND BIDS (MERIT FINALS)

100 + contestants = OCTAFINAL ROUND BIDS (CONSOLATION FINALS)

Entry forms must be in by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31st. We also ask that you limit your entries to no more than 3 individuals in an event and only two entries per school in group events. Fees for the tournament will be $8 per slot. Each judge you provide will cover 5 slots. We really love judges! Please bring them! There will be a $25 fee per uncovered slot/entry. Checks should be made out to Elmwood-Murdock High School.

A concession stand will be available all day for students to purchase lunch and snacks. A hospitality room will be provided for all judges, coaches, and bus drivers.
