Dear Coaches:

Waupaca High School would like to invite you to our annual Waupaca Green Tournament on Saturday, March 16. This is just three weeks prior to the WFCA State Tournament on April 6 and is the second to last competition weekend of the season. What a great opportunity for competition!

ENTRIES & AWARDS:  Each school is welcome to enter as many students as they would like, but sweepstakes awards will be based on the top 25 entries for each school.  No more than four entries per category will count for sweepstakes but additional entries are welcome.  Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 large schools, the top 3 medium schools, the top 3 small schools, and the top three individuals in each event.  All finalists not receiving a trophy will receive a medal.  Large school winners will be determined by total points; medium and small school winners will be determined qualitatively (average per entry). Division sizes will be determined during the week of the tournament based on actual team entries.

BALLOTING: We will be using e-balloting for this tournament. Judges must have a device that will run Speechwire's balloting services. If you have questions or concerns about this, please reach out and let me know.

EVENTS: We will offer competition in NCFL's Oratorical Declamation.  We will permit DOUBLE and TRIPLE entries awarding a DOUBLE and TRIPLE CROWN to the students who are double or triple entered and earn the most points.  Students may not double enter in both radio and extemp.

RULES:  Rules will be those stated inthe WFCA (www.wfcaforensics.org) handbook except for Oratorical Declamation.  NCFL rules will be used in this category. Rules for this category can be found at www.ncfl.org.

FEES: The cost is $10.00 per individual entry and $15.00 per group entry.

JUDGES: Each school must bring 1 judge for every 5 entries to a maximum of 10 judges.  If you must hire a judge from us the cost is $110.  Make sure that you bring the number of judges as stated on your original registration, even if you have drops. All judges should be available for power rounds. Head coaches must make sure that all judges are briefed in rules and judging etiquette. We will be using e-balloting for this tournament.

FOOD: We will have concessions available throughout the day for students, including an assortment of breakfast items available as teams arrive. Breakfast foods and lunch will be provided for judges.

REGISTRATION  Registration will be from 7:30-8:15am at the high school.  The confirmation will include a number to use for drops the morning of the tournament.  Schedules will be run the morning of the tournament; therefore it is mandatory for you to call in drops prior to 7:30am the morning of the tournament.  Please view the "Time Schedule" tab to see round times for the day.

ACCOMMODATIONS:  If your team requires overnight accommodations, there are two local hotels:  The Ramada - (715) 258-9212 or 1-877-1054 or The Comfort Suites - (715) 942-2424.
