Speech Coaches:

 

You are invited to attend the 2024 RTR Varsity Speech Invitational!  It will be held on Saturday, March 16, at the RTR Public School in Tyler, MN.  Students in grades 6-12 may compete. 

 

We are excited to have you at our tournament! Please note our current address: 111 County Road 8. We still have issues on occasion with navigation apps taking people to the location of our previous building.

 

We will be having 3 rounds of competition and a final in all 13 MSHSL categories. Double entries are welcome and even encouraged! We have staggered our start times so that Discussants have the option of double entering as well.

 

Judges: Please provide one judge for every six entries or fraction thereof. Very few judges are available for hire - please contact me directly via email or text if you wish to hire one. The fee to hire a judge is $100. If you need to hire a judge, pleae let me know no later than Tuesday, March 12. There will be our usual excellent selection of food items for judges in the judges' lounge. Judges are asked to bring an electronic device for online balloting and critiques. Paper ballots and critiques will be available, but we strongly encourage the electronic version.

 

This is an in-person meet. Entry cost is $7 per single event, $14 for Duos.

 

Our famous excellent concessions will be available throughout the day, including an assortment of gluten and/or dairy free options.

Awards: 4:30 PM

 

We will be giving medals for the top six finishers in each category, along with our signature LIGHTSABERS for the champions of the day. The top three teams will receive trophies as well.
