Speech JUDGES: Teams must provide one judge for every six entries. Please select judges who understand speech rules and protocol. AWARDS: Medals awarded for 1st-6th places in each category. Awards for top three teams. Also, honorable mentions! ROUNDS: Three rounds and a final round. DOUBLE ENTRIES: Yes! DEADLINE: All registration should be received by 4:00 Thursday, Feb. 8th, 2024 Changes can be made in speechwire up to 8:00 a.m. the day of the tournament TENTATIVE SCHEDULE: 7:00 a.m. – registration begins 8:30 a.m. - Draws for round one 9:00 a.m. – Round One 9:15 a.m. - Discussion round one 10:00 a.m.- Draws for round two 10:30 a.m. – Round Two 10:45 a.m. - Discussion round two 11:30 a.m.- Draws for round three noon – Round Three 12:15 p.m. Discussion round three 1:45 p.m. – Finals 3:00 p.m. – Awards February. A time when hearts yearn for love, or, barring that, temperatures above freezing. We cannot promise either at our meet, but we can promise some F-U-N. We hope you can join us for what surely will be a memorable experience. Rules will follow MSHSL standards. Discussion tasks will be from Subsection topics of the MSHSL outline: Areas I and II, all storytelling stories and extemp reading excerpts will be included.
