Forensics Coaches, 

St. Mary Catholic High School invites you to join us for the first annual Zephyrs Classic Tournament on Saturday, February 24, 2024. We are excited to welcome you to our school and to have a wonderful day of competition. 

LOCATION: Our tournament will take place in both our high school and middle school buildings. Both buildings are located on the same campus with a parking lot between them. The address for arrival is 1050 Zephyr Dr., Neenah, WI 54956.

CATEGORIES/ENTRIES: We will offer three rounds of preliminary competition for all standard WFCA events. Teams may enter as many entries as they would like with up to the top 25 counting toward the team score (maximum 4 entries per category counting toward the team score). Double entries are allowed in all categories, except students may not double enter in both Radio & Extemp. Triple-entries are not allowed. Note: Novice Prose/Poetry are only open to students competing in their first year in high school forensics; not their first year in the category. 

RULES: WFCA rules will apply in all events with allowances for WISDAA events. Updated rules are available at https://www2.wfcaforensics.org/ 

JUDGES: Each team is required to bring one qualified judge for every five entries or fraction thereof. If you are short on judges, you may hire one of our independent extra judges at a rate of $125/judge. You must provide the number of judges you indicate on your original entry as of February 23 at 10:00 am and any additional judges to accommodate any late adds. We will be using electronic balloting, which requires your judges to come equipped with a laptop/tablet that has Internet access and a SpeechWire account. If this is an issue for your judges, please contact us ahead of time so that we may accommodate.

DEADLINES: Please register via SpeechWire by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Teams can and should manage their own adds/drops on SpeechWire until 3:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024.

CONFIRMATION: You will receive a confirmation e-mail the week of the tournament. Each team will need to confirm their entries via text to Jennifer Wautlet at 920-470-8440 by 7:15 A.M. on the morning of the tournament so we can accommodate any last-minute changes while keeping the tournament on time! We will only allow day-of additions if competition space and schedule availability allow.

FEES: Entry fees are $10.00 per individual entry and $15.00 for each group entry (Play Acting, Duo Interp, or Group Interp). Please make checks payable to St. Mary Catholic Schools Attn: Jennifer Wautlet Forensics. Fees will be based on your entries as of 10:00 am on Friday, February 23, 2024. 

AWARDS: The top three finishers in each category will receive a trophy and all other finalists will receive a medal. Divisions will be decided based on the entries on the day of the tournament.

FOOD:  We will provide a complimentary breakfast and lunch to judges, coaches, and bus drivers. Students will be able to purchase lunch items. We will have more specific menu information closer to the tournament.
