Greetings, speech coaches! I am pleased to invite your team to the 2024 Titan Speech Invitational to be held at Twin River High School located in Genoa on Saturday, January 6th.
The entry deadline will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the first round beginning at 8:00 a.m.
We will offer competition in all ten NSAA speech events.
Students will compete in two preliminary rounds. The following events will take the top 6, 12, or 18 speakers to finals as entries dictate: INFO, PER, ENT, EXT, HUM, SER, POE, and POI. DUET will take the top 5, 10, or 15 pairings as entries dictate. Finally, OID will take the top 4, 8, or 12 groups to finals as entries dictate.
Team sweepstakes will be determined using final-round placings only.
Students may be triple-entered in the competition. Please ensure your extempers understand that they MUST be on time for extemp.
Extemp: Students will be allowed to connect to the internet during extemp preparation. The extempers will not be allowed to plug in their laptops due to a lack of available outlets. Students may be able to charge laptop computers between rounds.
Concessions will be offered in the commons area throughout the tournament.
You will need to provide one judge for every SIX ENTRIES. The fee for uncovered entries will be $75 for every 6 uncovered entries. Please be sure that your judges have a way to time the presenters and are aware that they need to be available for all final rounds. A hospitality room for coaches, judges, and bus drivers will be available throughout the day.
Fees are $8.00 per entry, individual or group. Fees should be paid upon registration on the morning of the tournament, if not sooner. There will not be any refunds for drops after the January 3rd, 4:00 p.m. deadline.
