Hi Coaches!

 

Please join us this December 2nd for the John Hersey High School Presentation of the Ultimutt Dog Show! We will be holding a JV Speech Tournament to give an opportunity to grow for all Novice and JV Speech Competitors. Our tournament will follow the following format: 

 

General Format 

 

We will be running our competition through the general Speech Tournament format. Registration will open at 7 AM on Saturday December 2nd. First rounds will begin promptly at 8:30 am. The schedule of subsequent rounds will be made available soon through Speechwire.com. 

 

Limited Prep:

- Extemp will prep for 2 preliminary rounds and choose their better speech of the two for round three.

- Radio Speaking will prep for round 1 and use that script for rounds 2 & 3. 

- Prep times will begin at 7:45 am for Radio and 8:00 am for Extemp. Note that Extemp will have another opportunity to prep before round 2.

 

 

There will be NO final rounds; awards will run following round 3.

 

ENTRY :  You may enter up to two competitors in each event, but may also request extra entries.  Requests for extra entries should be added and they will be entered on the waitlist.  Requests will be accepted! Extra entries will be admitted at additional fees, and teams permitted extra entries will be expected to provide additional judges. Please limit your students to triple entries. 

 

 

JUDGES :  Each team should provide one judge for every six entries in the competition.  A full team (2 entries per event) is expected to have five judges, and teams with additional entries should bring an additional judge following the 1 judge per each 1 to 6 entries ratio.  This is absolutely necessary for the success of the tournament.

 

DEADLINEs: In order to ensure that all loose ends are tied up prior to the tournament beginning, please make sure to have your judges and entries finalized before 6 pm on December 1st.

 

FEES : For 14 entries or less the fee is $160.  For schools with 15-28 entries the fee is $175 and beyond 28 the fee is $200.
