We are so excited to welcome everyone back to the Hill Country for the  Wimberley Texan UIL Invitational Tournament. We are conveniently located in between Austin and San Antonio. We will offer all UIL Academic events (except Hands-On Computer Science and Computer Applications), and all UIL Speech and Debate events (except Congress). We will use third-party materials for academics.  We will have a local food truck (Un Poco De Todo), Toms Coffee Truck and Kona Ice in the front of the school for students and adults to purchase! We will have breakfast in the hospitality room along with drinks and coaches/judges will each receive a ticket for lunch from the food truck (Un Poco De Todo). 

 

*Be sure to indicate how many coaches you are bringing with you as that will be how many lunch tickets you will receive at registration.*

 

Spelling will be online, be sure to have your Spelling Team bring headphones/Air pods/etc with them to be able to take the test, we will not be providing headphones.  Depending on entries we may do 2 flights for the Spelling Test.

 

CX & LD will not have out rounds but we will have 4 guaranteed rounds. Our school doesn't have a guest wifi, so be sure to bring flash drives to share cases.

Prose and Poetry will be using both A & B categories, finals will be speaker's choice

 

The last day to register/add entries will be Tuesday, 1/16.  The last day to drop without penalties is Wednesday 1/17.

 

** All Journalism and Ready Writing prompts will be sent to the email on file on 1/12/24 by 10:00 AM along with a Google Drive folder for submission. Submissions will be due by 8:30 AM Friday 1/19/24. Please ensure the document's title is the following Event name, student name. When I submit to our judges I will make sure entries are anonymous. **

 

We will have unique Wimberley Texan trophies for 1st-3rd place along with medals for 4th-6th.  This year we will also have team awards along with 1st and 2nd Sweepstakes trophies. There will also be two, "just for fun" events with prizes, a Scavenger Hunt and a Rap Battle!
