Hello Fellow Jr High Speech Coaching Super Heroes!

You are Invited to the First Annual Central Valley Cougar Clash!  We are scheduled for March 25th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

*This meet is open to grades 6-8th. And we will be having a 3 Round. This way the students can get the most out of the day performance and critique wise. It will be pretty fast paced but I also hope it will be fun and a learning experience. 

Registration will begin at 8:00am with Extemporaneous and Improv Duet Draw at 8:30 for the first round which will begin at 9 am. 

* EXTEMP PREP: We will be allowing computers in extemp prep per the high school NSAA rules. We will also allow open internet. Internet access cannot be promised of course - we do our best but some school devices just do not work. Please have a back up plan - if your school has a hot spot please check it out and bring it. 

* ENTRY DEADLINE: Thursday March 23th, 2023 at Midnight.  Any schools with entry drops made after this deadline are still responsible for their original entry fee. Please have a check made out to Central Valley Public Schools at the time of your arrival for the sum of your entry fees 

*JUDGES: You will be required to supply judges for each 6 events you bring. If you would like to bring more PLEASE do! We will use them. This is a good time to train your Upper High School Speech Students about judging. Please make sure you have trained them, and we ask that they have at least competed in 2 years of Speech. 

This year's tournament will be in-person at Central Valley High School in Greeley, Nebraska. For this tournament, the events offered this year are: Declamation, Duet Acting, Dramatic Interpretation, Entertainment, Extemporaneous, Humorous Interpretation, Impromptu, Informative, OID and Poetry and Improv Duet.  If we don't have sufficient entries in Entertainment and Informative we will combine them. We will allow students to triple enter just to remind them that all events will be run at the same time. We will be giving awards out to the top 6 competitors in each event, as well as awarding the top 5 teams in sweepstakes. We might also be giving away awards for top speakers triple entered, just haven't worked out the kinks yet.

We will have a concession stand available with breakfast and lunch. In addition to a judge lounge.
