Sheboygan North VITRUAL Tournament
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Wisconsin. View manager contact information
Dear Forensics Coaches,
Welcome to Sheboygan North VIRTUAL Tournament for 2023
Sheboygan North would like to invite you to an Asynchronous Tournament the week of March 13-19th. I figured with the end of the season coming up, spring breaks, solo ensembles. etc.… it would be helpful not have an option to compete without travel.
REGISTRATION Please register online at www.speechwire.com.
RULES Since it is the end of the season, with STATE approaching fast, all categories will be contested employing WFCA rules. Rule violations will be addressed by the tournament director. (For a list of rules see www.wfcaforensics.org). (The exception is Oratorical Declamation, which will follow NCFL rules.) FEES Entry fees are: $8 for individual entries and $10 for entries in Play Acting, Duo and Group Interp. A limited number of hired judges will be available for $100 each. ENTRIES Students are allowed to double or triple enter. Since virtual, anyone can triple enter (Radio & Extemporaneous Speaking), so students can try new categories they might never do. There is no limit to how many entries a team may have for the tournament. You will be able to manage your team entries via SpeechWire until Wednesday March 15th. Unlimited number of entries are allowed in each category. VIDEOS Videos must be uploaded to YouTube as UNLISTED and the links added with the entry. All videos should be named with student’s LAST NAME ONLY and EVENT: Bestul, Moments. For OIL (2 videos #1 Poetry & #2 Prose ) and Storytelling (3 videos - #1 questioning reality, #2 acceptance/inclusion & #3 magic/magical creatures (#4 - speakers choice)), also include whether the video is prose, poetry or the story that they are telling: Bestul, OIL, Poetry. This will make it easier for judges to know which video they are watching while judging. Please advise your students that the background, lighting, and sound quality will not be judged; however, they should try to find a quiet place to record. All videos must be done in a single take with no editing, single camera, single microphone. The same video performance will be used for all four rounds. LIMITED PREP EVENTS
Materials for Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu, and Radio Announcing will be sent out to coaches on the evening of March 9.
They will also be posted on Speechwire for coaches to download directly.
Students in Impromptu are to record their combined prep and speaking time, as one continuous, unedited video (5 minutes total for Impromptu). .
Students in Radio and Extemporaneous Speaking will not need to record their prep time, just the speaking time.
All limited prep competitors will submit only one video which will be judged in all four rounds.

AWARDS The top 3 entries in each category will receive awards. Team awards will be presented to the top 2 teams in the large team, medium team, and small team divisions. The breakdown for each division will be determined when registration closes, creating as even a split amongst all teams with 5 or more entries.
