OIFA State Championship
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a College tournament in Oklahoma. View manager contact information Forensics Colleagues and Friends,
We would like to invite you to the annual Oklahoma Forensics Association State Tournament to be held February 24 and 25th, 2022 in person on the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This year we are going to go big for our return to Face-to-Face competition for the OIFA State Championship tournament and we are going to have a 6 round IPDA tournament starting the 24th and a full Individual Event tournament starting on February 25th. Both portions of the tournament will conclude on February 25th with an awards Ceremony in which the awards have been sponsored by the TCC foundation. So, we are planning on handing out lots of awards for this event. This tournament is open to any college and university program that would like to enter our state tournament. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EVERYONE LANDING ON THIS PAGE: The OIFA State Championship tournament is open call tournament, all schools are welcome and if you can attend, we would love to see you at Tulsa Community Colleges Southeast Campus on February 24th and 25th
The tournament directors reserve the right to limit the number of entries from a school, and/or balance rounds with students from the same school in order to accommodate judging obligations from schools with large entries. All IE events with eight or less entries will be auto-finaled. We would like to ask every single team to bring their required judges to help make the tournament run smoothly and easily for everyone involved. We will have some judges that schools can contact to hire in the area but there are no guarantees that those judges will be available for the event. We will be doing our best to recruit judges for IPDA and anticipate our real need for judges to come on Saturday during IE events as constraints are much tighter.
There are two hotels that boarder the TCC Southeast campus which give the state hotel rate. As part of the Oklahoma Board of Regents guidelines, we cannot partner with any hotel to offer better rates but we can ask that hotels work with the state rates for schools who are going to be traveling. Please ask each hotel for these rates respectively when booking your accommodations for the weekend. If you are unable to reserve your rooms at those hotels, we are well within a 10 minute drive of 15 other hotels in Tulsa and the surrounding cities. We are also incredibly close to food for your competitors that could serve every single need for those on your team. We are also close to several entertainment facilities in the area in off chance you find yourself with the time to enjoy some of Tulsa.
Sincerely,
Katie Stringer, MA & John Mikolajcik, MA
Tournament Co-Directors and OFA Board Members
Directors of Forensics, Cameron University & Tulsa Community College (respectively)
