Dear UIL Coordinators and Coaches,

You and your students are invited to attend the Monahans High School Spring UIL Invitational Meet to be held on February 18, 2023. We will offer all Academic Events except Computer Science, as well as Prose, Poetry, and Extemporaneous Speaking. No Debate events will be offered. All events will be held at Monahans High School. The address is 809 S. Betty, Monahans, TX 79756

**Computer Applications will be limited to the first 30 entrants with no more than 3 from a single school. Each contestant in this event will be limited to one plug-in and must bring all materials he/she needs to compete. In this particular event, ONLY papers from schools that provide a qualified grader will be graded. The other papers will be returned with an answer key, but no score.  

**Computer Science hands on computer science will NOT be offered. 

**Debate will not be offered.

**Substitutions will be done at the time of the contest.

Deadlines: 
Friday, February 10th - entries are due by Midnight. Please fax, E-mail, or register on Speechwire.

Thursday, February 16th - deadline to drop entries and judges. Please fax, E-mail, or message me on Speechwire.

Awards:
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
Ribbons will be awarded for 4th, 5th and 6th places.
Team Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
   

Judging:  Each school must provide the required judges or pay a fee of $50 per judge. All available sponsors of events may be needed to help grade in various events. Again, a qualified grader from the school must help grade Computer Applications, or those students' papers will not be scored.   

Hospitality Room for coaches/bus drivers only: Will be located on Friday, February 18th in the Teacher Workroom.

 ***TIMES AND ROOM ASSIGNMENTS MAY VARY EACH DAY DEPENDING ON HOW MANY ENTRIES WE RECEIVE. NEW INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AS CHANGES ARE MADE AND AT THE TIME YOU REGISTER.

Fees are as follows:

• Journalism events $12.00

• Ready Writing $12.00

• Other Academic Events $10.00

• Prose, Poetry, and Extemp Speaking $15.00
