You and your outstanding speech team are invited to attend the Fosston Rotary Speech Invitational on March 11, 2023. We are hosting at FOSSTON HIGH SCHOOL (where the Section 8 Competition is held)
Competition: All 13 MSHSL categories
BUSSES: PLEASE DROP OFF AT THE NORTH OR SOUTH DOORS OF THE FOYER DOORS # 1 AND #4
Registration: Please complete your registrations online with Speechwire.
Registrations are due ASAP OR BY THE LATEST March 11th (morning)
Adds/drops should be done by 5pm Friday. After that the fee for the student remains.
All entries are $8.00 (duo counts as one entry)
Double-entering is fine, PLEASE NO DOUBLE ENTERING IN DISCUSSION (NO TIME ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE) please no triple-entering
Provide one judge for every 6 entries or portion of 6 .
A few judges are available at the cost of 100.00 (YOU MUST LET ME KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU NEED ONE OF MINE)

Please ensure that your speakers are aware of the rules and etiquette of their categories and competition and that your judges are aware of MSHSL rules, expectations regarding keeping explicit ballots and writing critiques that provide speakers with appropriate feedback and suggestions. Likewise, please ensure that your judges understand all of the rules and criteria of judging and that they understand the influence and effect their critiques have on students.
Storytellers and Extemp. Readers will draw from all season selections. Discussers will be using the appropriate subject area as recommended for the date by the MSHSL.Section Topics:
Sub Topic A Agricultural Impacts
Sub Topic D Energy Use
Sub Topic D Loss of Biodiversity
Schedule: Registration will begin at 7:45 AM
Round I draws will start at 8:30 AM
Extemp. speaking time is 30 minutes
Round 1 9:00 AM (draws at 8:30)
Round 2 10:30 AM (draws at 10:00)
Round 3 12:00 PM (draws at 11::30)
AWARDS approximately 2:00
Concessions will be available PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENTS TO SUPPORT THE AFRICA MISSIONS TRIP . There be a meal voucher, snacks and beverages for the judges, coaches and drivers. FYI Fosston Dairy Queen will be open as well, if you want to grab something before returning home.
