Dear Coaches and Friends,

We would be honored for you to join us for the 2023 North Star Beaus and Belles of the Bayou Tournament on Saturday, February 4th. We are a National Individual Event Tournament of Champions Qualifying Tournament, which will take place May 12-14th in Chanhassen, MN.

Tournament Info:
Compared to last year if you were with us, our tournament is a week earlier, is NOT conflicting with ACT or any sporting events, AND is a standard 3 round tournament instead of a flighted tournament. (YAY!)

Registration:
Registration is open and you can add your entries until Wednesday, February 1st at 5:00 PM. After that, please contact me via email (afinn@lps.org) if you have any late drops/adds. You will need 1 judge for every 5 entries. When you get to the building on the 4th, please check in at the front table. Each entry is $8.

EVENTS:
We will be using NSAA guidelines for the nine Nebraska events. We will honor to longest time limits for each (OID=15, Duet=12, Inform=10) to accommodate for the different classes that come to this tournament. Full descriptions can be found at www.nsaahome.org. We will be using electronic draw for both Extemp and Impromptu. This means that students in those events must have ACTIVE SpeechWire accounts to get their topics. The ONLY NSAA rule we will not be abiding is the exceeding grace period time (30 seconds). If a student exceeds the 30-second grace period, they simply cannot get 1st place. That is the ONLY penalty a student should face for going over time.

Concessions/Judges Lounge:
There will be food.

Schedule:
Registration: 8:00 AM
Round 1: 9:00 AM
Round 2: 10:30 AM
Round 3: 12:00 PM
Finals: 2:00 PM
Awards: ASAP (most likely around 3:30)

Contact Info:
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at afinn@lps.org. On day-of, the best way to contact me is either in the TAB room, or texting me at 402-649-8468.

Can't wait to have you all there!
