We're planning to try a new format this year - four prelim rounds breaking to finals in all events. All competitors - novice and varsity - compete together in all rounds. Here are the highlighted items from the registration info page:
Events:
* All 13 MSHSL events.
* Extemp will be split Domestic & International - students cannot compete in both due to schedue constraints.
* Impromptu (AFA format - see Files section for full instructions).
* POI.
* All events have a 30 second grace period.
Double- & Triple-entering:
* Students in draw events (ER, IX, ST, & USX) and Discussion can be registered in one non-draw event as well but not two due to schedule constraints.
* Students can register in three non-draw events.
* Impromptu is not considered a draw event since it is an in-room draw event with a running clock (see instructions under Files for more information).
Discussion:
* Discussion tasks will be released at the table.
* Tasks will be drawn from the second section of the outline.
Round themes for Extemp Speaking will be in the live doc.
Tournament format:
* Four prelims and then all events will break to Regular, Honors, Merit, and Consolation finals, as numbers dictate.
NIETOC Bids:
* All Finalists in DI, Duo, HI, Info, IX, OO, Prose, POI, & USX likely will earn bids.

Waitlisting:
* Due to space constraints and our ambitious schedule, we have caps on entries per event. Once an event reaches capacity, all additional entries will be put on waitlists.
* We'll monitor registration and make adjustments as needed to accept as many entries as possible off the waitlists.
Concessions:
We will have concessions available at 8:00AM with doughnuts, muffins, juice and frappichino, followed by a hot lunch of chicken tenders, French fries and Domino's pizza at 11:00AM. The cafeteria lines will move quickly to purchase a drink, snack or treat anytime during the day.
