Dear Forensics Coach,
 
The Watertown High School and Luther Preparatory School Forensics teams invite you and your team to the Rock River Forensics Tournament.
 
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Watertown High School. Our goal is to help teams get the ball rolling for the upcoming competition season!
 
Special Notes
-We are allowing students to double enter in the tournament in all events. This will allow motivated students the opportunity to compete in two events.
-We’ll be using the SpeechWire registration and tabulation software system.To register your team, visit: www.speechwire.com
 
Rules
WFCA rules will be used for all events (For a list of rules see www.wfcaforensics.org) . Please note that allowances will be made for difference in WIDSAA rules. Those rule differences can be found in the WFCA Handbook.

1:30        Power Rounds Begin
 
Awards
Medals will be presented to the top three competitors and to the remaining finalists.  Team awards will be given to schools in two divisions using the breakdown below.This could be subject to change the day of the tournament depending on what registration looks like. 
 
Large School: 16-25 entries, based on total points
Small School: 6-15 entries, based on team average
 
Food
Please bring your own food or there will be concessions in the commons for students. There will be food provided in the room for coaches and judges. 
 
Deadlines
  • Please register via SpeechWire by Friday, January 13th by 6:00 pm.
  • Teams can and should manage their own drops on Speechwire.com until 5:00pm, Friday, January 20. After that point, email drops to krogmalg@lps.wels.net AND lobensteinh@watertown.k12.wi.us at your earliest possible convenience.
  • Entries dropped after that time will still be charged.
  • Day of tournament drops are strongly discouraged. Please call-in or text last minute drops as soon as possible on tournament day to Lucas Krogmann at 920-296-6571 or Hillary Lobenstein 920-262-7500 ext. 6228. You're strongly encouraged to thoroughly complete coach’s information including coach’s cell phone # on SpeechWire, so tournament personnel can call you if needed.
 
Fees
A fee of $9.00 for each individual entry and $12 for group entries (Duo, Group Interp, Play Acting). Entry fees are per entry, not per student. Fees will be based on your confirmed entry.
 
Judges
Each school must provide one judge for every five entries or portion of five entries. Each duo, group interp or play acting is considered one entry. Please try to bring your own quality judges. Your judge commitment will be based on your entry as of Thursday, January 21st. We can have hired judges available for you at a cost of $120 per judge. Please email krogmalg@lps.wels.net or lobensteinh@waterown.k12.wi.us if this is needed. Teams with over 50 entries/10 judges are required to hire judges from the tournament. Total entries are not capped.
 
Entries
Your top 25 entries will count toward team scores with a maximum of four entries per event. Additional entries are welcome. Students are allowed to enter two events.
 
SpeechWire
  • Please register via Speechwire.com no later than 6:00pm, Friday, January 13th. If you encounter any problems with the online registration, don't hesitate to email lobensteinh@watertown.k12.wi.us or krogmalg@lps.wels.net. A registration confirmation will be emailed out after registration closes. Coaches can also view up-to-the minute fees on Speechwire.com.
  • Note on Varsity/Novice designation: When prompted to enter a student’s division, please use varsity for all competitors. There will not be a separate award or division for novice speakers.
