The Hofstra University Forensics Team is pleased to partner with AFA District 7 and the district committee to bring you the Lucky 7 Tournament. This tournament will be a swing tournament with the AFA District 7 Spring Qualifier.

Hofstra University is located in Hempstead, NY on beautiful Long Island, just 35 minutes east of fabulous New York City! We will offer all 11 AFA-NST events. We hope you join us.

Competition Rules:

1. There is no limit on team entries in any event.

 2. Students may enter a maximum of 3 events per bracket; 2 duos count as 2 events.

 3. The deadline for entry is Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 3pm eastern.

 4. Entry fees are $10 per event slot.

 5. Please provide a qualified judge for every 6 slots.

 6. Hired judges are available at $15 per uncovered slot.

 7. Drop fees are original entry fee plus $10 penalty after entry deadline plus $20 if on Saturday.

 8. Dropped judges after the entry deadline will each be assessed a $100 fee in addition to standard judge fees.

9. We will use AFA rules for tabulation. We will use e-ballots via Speechwire.

10. Awards will be given to all finalists.

Tournament Logistics:

1. The Lucky 7 will be held out of C.V. Starr and Berliner Hall. If you’ve been to a tournament at Hofstra, these are not our regular buildings. Both buildings are right next to each other.

2. We strongly suggest you do lunch at our Student Center. Use our Unispan to cross Hempstead Turnpike to get there. There is a Starbucks as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

3. There is an outdoor parking lot just outside of Berliner Hall on California Ave. You may park there on weekends without restrictions.
