Delta High School’s Panther Pride Speech & Debate Tournament
It’s almost time for the annual Delta High School’s Panther Pride Speech Competition. Please join us on Saturday, January 14th at Delta High School in Delta, Colorado.
The Public Forum Debate topic will be Resolved: The United States Federal Government should increase its diplomatic efforts to peacefully resolve internal armed conflicts in West Asia.
The Lincoln Douglas Debate topic will be the Resolved: Justice requires open borders for human migration.
Students may enter ONE A event and ONE B event. NO DOUBLING (i.e. a student cannot enter in both congress and value as they are in the same wave).
Please preregister by Monday, December 19th (even if you are guessing) at www.speechmeets.com because we are calling judges over break. Update your entries at your first practice in January. Have your registration perfected by Monday, January 9th. Please stick to that deadline (there will be a drop fee of $8.50 after Tuesday, January 10th at midnight). We should be able to find judges if you give us enough info and time.
Registration is $8.50 per individual event and $17.00 per team. Checks can be sent or brought the day of. Checks should be made out to Delta High School Speech Team. Visiting teams will not be refunded entry fees for drops made the morning of the meet.

Congressional Debate (Novice House + Varsity House)
Be sure to flag your Congress kids as either Varsity or Novice. Do not worry about PO's in the novice house, as we are certain at least one novice will be trained before the meet.
Please submit 1 or 2 pieces of legislation by Friday, January 6th, so a docket can be assembled.
We will be providing breakfast items (burritos), juice, coffee, snacks, and lunch for all coaches and judges. Also, we will have concessions open for the competitors all day with lunch items to purchase.
We are offering a concession stand with breakfast items and a taco bar for lunch, snacks, and drinks. Prices will be fair.
We plan to start Draw (Extemp & Value) promptly at 7:30AM and all Wave A events at 8:00 AM. To respect everyone’s travel times please be on time, as rounds will start with or without you.
