Hathaway Brown Tournament

On behalf of our entire speech and debate program, I am happy to invite you to the Hathaway Brown Tournament on January 13 and 14, 2023. Important updates about our tournament this year:
1) LD and High School PF will compete VIRTUALLY on Friday evening and Saturday. There will be 5 preliminary rounds and an appropriate number of elimination rounds based on entries.
2) All other events will take place IN PERSON at Hathaway Brown on Saturday only. We will do 4 rounds of IE and middle school, 3 rounds of policy, and a full day of congressional debate in the same chamber. The final round in speech will be a hidden power round.
3) No double entries in speech. I'll cap each school at 6 entries per event (for in person) and add more as space allows.
4) Please mark your novice competitors as such in Speechwire, as we will recognize our top novice finishers no matter where they place.
5) We will debate NSDA topics for January 2023 and use the OSDA MS PF topic for January 2023. Congress will debate the OSDA docket legislation for January 14 and MS Congress docket will be posted once released.
A variety of lunch options will be offered to students. We will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs, but please feel free to bring your own food if you feel the need.
