Hello Coaches! Fishers High School would like to invite you to the annual Fishers Forensic Festival, to be held January 7th of 2023. This will be a large tournament featuring schools from all over the state and all ISSDA events.

  • We will offer all ISSDA competition events for both speech and debate
  • Please have all entries in speechwire by 3 PM on Tuesday, January 3rd. This will be a large tournament and we need time to make sure room assignments will work.
  • For all speech events, we will guarantee 3 preliminary rounds, a semifinal, and a final, regardless of entry numbers.
  • For Congress, we will run two preliminary rounds and a final “super-house.”
  • For Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, World Schools, and Policy Debate, we will guarantee 4 rounds of competition--- two random draw and two power matched. If time allows, we will run a fifth round in these events as well.
  • Please enter through Door 19, the same door you use at state speech and our other tournaments.
  • World Schools Impromptu prep will be begin at 8 AM
  • There will be a judges meeting at 8:30 AM. Extemp draw will happen at 8:30 AM.
  • All other rounds will start at 9 AM.
  • Please enter one judge for every fraction of 5 speech entries (15 entries= 3 judges, 11 entries= 3 judges, 7 entries= 2 judges, 1 entry= 1 judge) and one judge for every 2 debate entries. Extra judges are always appreciated!
  • Students can triple at their own risk across any speech events that do not require prep time. Students in extemp and radio may only double. Students cannot double across or out of debate
  • Radio format: Round 1 five minute newscast, Round 2 two minute editorial, Round repeat newscast, Seminfinal on the spot, round 5 news program--- editorial edited into newscast. Prompts will be published no later than one week before the tournament.

  • We will offer Varsity competition only at this meet
  • We will award 1st-6th  place and semifinalist ribbons in all events, with a trophy for event champions.
  • We will award 1st-8th place for team sweeps (combined speech and debate).
  • This event will be 100% eballoted. All judges will need to have speechwire.com accounts created ahead of time and will need to have an internet capable device with them. Students will need to have a speechwire account in order to be added to the tournament.
  • We enjoy hosting tournaments and look forward to hosting many more in the future. Please encourage your competitors to purchase food at our concession line in order to help us pay for speechwire, and please encourage everyone to leave the school looking the way they found it.

  • More details will be published as we get closer to the meet. Looking forward to seeing you there!
