Hispanic Heritage Month Afterschool Congress 2022 Dear coaches, In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and on behalf of the Strive Prep - SMART Academy Speech & Debate program, you are invited to attend our afterschool congress at SMART on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022. Participants: This tournament will be open to Novice and Varsity competition. If numbers allow it, we are hoping to run separate Novice and Varsity Chambers. Students do not have to identify as Hispanic/Latino to participate in the congress. Docket: The docket will feature debate on topics and issues facing the Hispanic/Latino community. If you would like to submit legislation for debate, please do so ASAP. The docket will be released around Tuesday, September 20th. Schedule: Registration: 4:15-4:30 (we dismiss at 3:40, please help us out and not arrive early) Session 1: 4:30-6pm Dinner: 6-6:20 Session 2: 6:20-7:20 Awards: 7:30 Fees & Judges: Entry fees will be $8 per student, with most of the proceeds going to purchasing pizza for all students at the dinner break. We ask you to provide 1 adult judge for every 10 entries. If either of these are a barrier to your participation please let us know so we can create a solution. Address: 3201 W.
