Welcome to DebateBroward Elementary Championships on Saturday, May 6th at Dillard High School!
Please follow the instructions on this page to register your entries. Remember, each school may only initially enter TEN students in all events. Any additional students will be placed on a waitlist and will be allowed in the tournament as you sign up enough judges to cover those entries.
Registration for NEW ENTRIES will close on Tuesday, May 2nd at 3 pm. At that time as many students will be released from the waitlist as judge numbers allow. Changes (drops or name changes) can be made until 7 am on Saturday, May 6th. Any changes after that, please text Erin Ryan: 954.683.6452 the school name, student who is dropping, and her/his event.
You MUST arrive AND check-in for the tournament between 7:30 am and 8:00 am. If you or your students arrive after 8:00 am you will run the risk of being dropped from the tournament!
DebateBroward will NOT be providing transportation for this tournament. You must arrange for your own transportation or parent drop-off/pick-up from Dillard High.
All competitors will be provided with a slice of pizza, bag of chips, and a water for lunch. If you would like to order extra pizza for your team you can do that in the meal order section on SpeechWire for $12 per pie. Please bring cash or a school check with you to pay for the pre-ordered extra pizza.
Impromptu topic areas will be "Book Quotes", "Social Media", "Routines", "Cooking", and "Champions".
Congress legislation will be emailed to coaches and posted here under the "Files for Download" section on Tuesday, April 25th. The MSPDP topic will also be release on April 25th.
More information will be distributed as the tournament approaches. Please let your mentor know if you have any questions.
