Welcome to the Creighton Prep Pecking Order XII Middle School Meet! We are scheduled for March 31st, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.

 

FIRST AND FOREMOST, CREATE A SPEECHWIRE ACCOUNT!!!!! THIS IS AN ONLINE TOURNAMENT! WHETHER YOU ARE A COACH, A COMPETITOR OR A JUDGE, YOU MUST CREATE A SPEECHWIRE ACCOUNT! GO TO SPEECHWIRE.COM AND CLICK THE"YOUR ACCOUNT" BUTTON AT THE TOP RIGHT AND THEN HALFWAY DOWN THE PAGE WILL BE THE "CREATE ACCOUNT" BUTTON. You will access all entry information and rounds through speechwire.com, and we will still post rounds in prominent places in the school. 

 

FOOD: WE WILL HAVE A MEAL PACKAGE AT OUR TOURNAMENT (PIZZA, A COOKIE, AND A WATER BOTTLE). MEAL TICKETS WILL BE $6. There will also be regular concessions during the tournament. (There will be veggie or cheese pizza for those who observe Lent.) 

 

TIME LIMITS: HI, DI, OO, DEC, POE, INF/ENT time limit is 8 min max. Duet is 10 min max. EXT max is 5 min and IMP max is 4 min. 

 

EXTEMP PREP: We will be allowing computers in extemp prep per the high school NSAA rules. We will also allow open internet. Internet access cannot be promised of course - we do our best but some school devises just do not work. Please have a back up plan - if your school has a hot spot please check it out and bring it. 

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: Tuesday March 28th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Any schools with entry drops made after this deadline are still responsible for their original entry fee. Please have a check made out to "Creighton Preparatory School ATTN: RICHARD BROWN" at the time of your arrival for the sum of your entry fees and meal tickets. 

 

ARRIVAL: Creighton Prep releases its students at 2:45PM. No matter what school, dismissal is always chaos, please plan accordingly. 

 

This year's tournament will be in-person at Creighton Preparatory High School. For this tournament, the events offered this year are: Declamation, Duet Acting, Dramatic Interpretation, Entertainment, Extemporaneous, Humorous Interpretation, Impromptu, Informative, Original Oratory, and Poetry. We will be allowing double entries. Any questions on rules, disqualifications, or equity concerns please see Coach Rich Brown. We will be giving awards out to the top 6 competitors in each event, as well as awarding the top 5 teams in sweepstakes.
