Patriot Games Classic 2022 Invitation
George Mason University cordially invites you to attend the 19th Annual Patriot Games Classic to be held on the George Mason University Campus in Fairfax, Virginia on December 3 & 4, 2022. After positive feedback, we are pleased to announce we are trying to add impromptu to out in-person event offerings.
We are working with the Fairfax Marriott to arrange a room rate, although a specific block has not been preset. We will update a link on the Speechwire homepage for this tournament. This weekend promises to be full of high energy and stress, which sometimes can effect students adversely. As a reminder, please bring all relevant medical forms with you in case a medical professional needs them. As a public state institution, we cannot mandate masks or vaccine checks. We will ask everyone to mask indoors. Students may take off their masks to perform. We will also have signs up to that effect. Fortunately, Fairfax has a large percentage of its population with vaccinations, and about half our students are wearing masks, even with a mask mandate in place. I have several immunocompromised students; I know that this will be an important factor for many schools to consider.
We look forward to seeing you all in December!

The hotel will host tournament registration Friday night December 6th, 2019 from 7 to 10 PM.

Room rates have been reserved for us under GMU Patriot Games. A reduced rate will be available through the first week of November. Fairfax is home to numerous hotels, so if you need to find one that suits your team’s needs, it wouldn’t be hard to find. We can also make recommendations if you need them.
2021 AWARDS: So we thought we could prevent breakage caused by shipping by purchasing local, but multiple purchases from the same types of establishments across country was ultimately disallowed by the institution. We will be ordering duplicate awards and will have trophies available for pick-up or shipment at the tournament. We apologize for the confusion and will do all we can to make sure everyone gets awards, albeit a little delayed.
