Our Region 1A Subsection 1 will compete on Saturday, April 1st at Cotter Schools, Winona..  Registration/Check-In begins at 8:45am at St. Teresa's ground floor (follow signs).  Text Bob's cell 507-450-6884 with student status (as in everyone's on the bus OR there are drops).

 

Please register your team as soon as possible so I have an idea on numbers and can hire enough judges.  Remember that a team can register no more than four per category and there are no double-entries allowed.

 

Items you need to provide:  

- Most recent copies of scripts, with the most current cuttings, etc., for all entries except Draw categories and Discussion.     Include student's name and category on top.  ISBN or website is helpful.  

- Community Standards form signed by your principal (if you would like to send me a scanned copy ahead of time, that's OK)

- Check for entry fee dropped off at tie of Check-in.  Entry fee remains at $20/entry.   No check = no competition for your students! (State rule).  Cannot accept "Check is in the mail" so if you are concerned about the check arriving in time, may consider sending it via Registered Mail

 

Remember that you are not responsible for furnishing judges.  

 

We need one timer for every six entries.  If you have extra (responsible) people, we also need Readers for Extemp Reading.  If you have extra prose or poetry books for Extemp Reading, please consider bringing those as well so we have enough copies for our Readers.  Be sure to mark your school name inside the covers so we get them back to the rightful owners.

 

Judges and Timers will have a meeting at 9:40am in SJ101 and SJ102.  All Draws will start at 9:30am.  Round 1 will start at 10am.  If things go smoothly, we hope to begin Awards as early as 3:30pm in the Theater.  See the Schedule on the tournament web page for the full schedule..

 

We will have concessions available in the St. Cecelia's commons (also the home base area).  Judges and Coaches will be fed in the Judge's lounges in the St. Joe's building rooms 101, and 102.

 

Most importantly - if you were sent this invite and do not have a team this year, please reply back with the confirmation there is no team from your school this particular year.  If no team, we understand and hope you come back next year.
