Welcome to the first annual WaterPark tournament hosted at Stillwater Area High School, a brand new tournament co-ran by the teams of Stillwater and Mounds Park Academy Saturday, January 14th, 2023. We are proud to announce that we are a NIETOC Nationals Bid Tournament for the 2022-2023 season. Let us know if you have any questions on NIETOC, or how the process works! We will offer all 13 MSHSL events plus POI and Impromptu. Extemp speaking will be split into International and US if entries exceed 50 students. Extemp speaking themes, Impromptu rules, and a live document will be posted to “Files for Download” in the coming months.

The tournament will consist of three rounds and finals. We will offer novice divisions for elimination rounds. We define novices as students in their first year of speech or students in grades 7-9, regardless of experience. All students will compete together in prelims to give new students an opportunity to learn from seasoned speakers. Novices may advance to finals (top 7) or next-in finals (next 7) if they qualify. 

Students may double enter in any events, including discussion. Highly seasoned speakers may triple enter. To celebrate students trying new events, we will offer individual sweepstakes for the top five students!

7:30 AM - Teams Begin Arriving to Stillwater Area High School

8:00 AM - Confirm Entries in Speechwire (will be live scheduling)

8:30 AM - Draw Round 1

9:00 AM - Round 1

9:15 AM - Round 1 Discussion

10:15 AM - Draw Round 2

10:30 AM - Round 2

10:45 AM - Round 2 Discussion

11:45 AM - Draw Round 3

12:15 PM - Round 3

12:30 PM - Round 3 Discussion

2:00 PM - Finals Draws

2:30 PM - Finals

4:30 PM - Awards 

Registration and Fees

The cost is $7 per entry.

Our registration deadline is Wednesday January 11th, at 4PM.

We will be site scheduling, so please let us know by 7:45 AM on tournament day if there are any changes. You can report changes to 952-240-3266.

Checks can be made out to Mounds Park Academy Speech Team.
