October 10-15, 2022
Overview
Munster High School welcomes your team to a rewarding early season opportunity. The tournament’s purpose is to begin training and mentoring beginners. Although this is a competition, the emphasis will be on learning. We will run three preliminary rounds with no final round. There will be no team sweeps. Students with 100 points or less are invited to participate in one division. Students with 100+ points are invited to judge the competition. There will be no physical awards in order to eliminate entry fees.
Schedule
Sunday, October 9- recorded youtube links should be posted to speechwire entry by 7:00 PM.
Monday, October 10 - ballots are pushed to judges by 12:00 PM.
We will allow judges to use the week to submit ballots by Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 PM.
Saturday, October 15-Recorded Awards Ceremony at 7:00 PM.

Radio Broadcasting
Prepared Prompt Speaking (list of quotes/adages)-provided one week in advance.
Declamation (Scripted or Memorized)
Duo Interpretation (Scripted or Memorized) (Split Screen or One Camera)
RADIO: Radio contestants will need to record a (5:00) minute newscast that includes a 30 second commercial and a 30 second transition into music copy for a song and artist that will follow the news. All material should be selected by the student and prepared ahead.
DOUBLING: All students may double enter. We hope to have only 5 competitors per section.
NOVICE DEFINITION: A novice is any student who is new to speech competition or has less than 100 points.
JUDGE REQUIREMENT: Judges will be varsity students recommended to have 100+ NFL points. Please bring 1 judge (adults are allowed to judge if students are unavailable) for every 5 entries. Newer programs should reach out if having difficulty securing judges. We will make it work. You are welcome to register as many judges as available. We can always attempt to place multiple judges in rounds.
REGISTRATION: Please register on speechwire by Friday, October 1.
