Battle Creek Jr/Sr High School is excited to be hosting the first annual Battle Creek Braves Junior High Speech Classic on Saturday, May 7, 2022.  

 

Events in this year's competition will include Poetry, Prose Interpretation, Public Speaking, Declamation, Extemporaneous, Duet/Duo, and OID.

 

(If the number of entries in Prose Interpretation grows too large, we'll split the event into Humorous and Serious. The same applies to Public Speaking. If the entry numbers grow, we may separate sections into Informative, Persuasive, and/or Entertainment.)

PLEASE, INDICATE WHEN REGISTERING-(IN THE NOTES SECTION)-IF YOUR PROSE ENTRIES ARE HUMOROUS OR SERIOUS AND WHICH TYPE OF PUBLIC SPEAKING ENTRY IT IS. THANK YOU!

 

Registration deadline is NOON on Monday, May 2.  Entry fee is $5 per entry with a $10 fee for each 6 entries uncovered by a judge. Please bring a judge for each of your 6 entries. Adults and experienced high school varsity speech students are encouraged to judge. If you have more judges than you need, let us know. We may be able to keep them busy. We offer community service hours for our varsity speech students who help and/or judge.
