Special category-specific  instructions:

Discussion:

The discussion schedule suggests that we use Part I of the outline.

DRAW EVENTS

We will hold draws for rounds 2 and 3, but come prepared with a speech/story/cutting of your choice for round 1.  Please let your student know that they will not be able to repeat that selection in rounds 2 and 3.

Extemp reading PROSE draws will come from the first 10 stories as listed on the MSHSL guide.  POETRY draws will come from the first twenty-four selections as listed on the MSHSL guide.

Storytelling draws will come from stories 1-10, as found on the MSHSL list.

JUDGES:

Your school must provide one judge for every six entries or fraction thereof.  Please indicate each judge's preference as you enter them on speechwire. If you forget, I will change their preference to EITHER.  Experienced senior high speech team members may be used as judges. Please keep in mind that small. tournaments may mean that we cannot keep judges clean, so your judges need to know they might have to judge a member of your team. Obviously we will work to keep that at a minimum.

ARRIVAL:

You must let us know by 2:00 on Thursday afternoon that you have all students and judges checked in, with no further changes to your roster. We will be site scheduling, and hope to have schematics posted and blasted out to everyone before 3:30.
