We are happy to invite you to our SkyHawk Speech High School Invitational on Friday February 4th, 2022! We hope our competition will gather some of the best speech programs in the state and help prepare your team for post-season speech competition.

See FILES FOR DOWNLOAD Tab for full COVID-19 Protocols and Information.

FEES/DEADLINES: Entries are due by Wednesday, February 2nd, at 7:00 PM. Each entry costs $8.00.

EVENTS: All 9 NSAA sanctioned categories will be offered--as well as Improvisational Duet Acting. Schools may enter up to 5 students/groups in each category in all NSAA, events except DUET which has a limit of 4 per school, OID which has a limit of 2 per school, and Improv Duet which has a limit of 4 per school.

Students may triple-enter; however, students in Extemporaneous and Oral Interpretation of Drama will need to use their time wisely, as we will not hold rounds late.

In order to accommodate schools from various classifications, Extemporaneous Speakers will be allotted 45 minutes for prep time.

JUDGES: Please bring judges if you are able. If you are unable to find certified judges to cover your whole squad,  as we plan on hiring several judges from the NSAA roster. Judges must be mature and write vaulable feedback for the students. If you would not trust a judge to critique your students, then please do NOT hire that judge.

AWARDS: In all categories - the Top 6 will advance to finals, and if entry numbers are larger than 35 we will break to 6 in Champs and 6 in Honors. Extemporaneous and Oral Interpretation of Drama will have finals sections of 4 entries each for the sake of time if breaking the top 12, so the Top 12 in those categories would go to Champs, Honors, and Merit sections of finals.

If entry numbers permit, we will add further sections of finals--but this will be determined after the deadline.

Students who double- or triple-enter are eligible for the Individual Sweepstakes Awards as well.

FOOD: Concessions will be sold throughout the event at the concession stand in the Gymnasium Hallway.

There will be a teachers'/judge's lounge with hearty fare as well as water and additional drinks available. Judges should social distance in the lounge, when eating.

PAYMENT: Please make your team's check payable to Skutt Catholic High School c/o SkyHawk Speech.

We are excited to host this competition. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us!
