Chesterton Debate - Virtual

*WE ARE NO LONGER PLANNING TO OFFER SPEECH AT THIS EVENT - We felt as though there were enough tournament options on that side of our activity that we did not wish to interfere with
Events Offered:
- Lincoln Douglas – Varsity and Novice
- Public Forum – Varsity and Novice
- Policy Debate – Open division
- Congressional Debate – Open division
- World School Debate – Open Division
- No Entry Caps
Judges
- We are single flighting both LD and PF!
- I am happy to split/timeslot your judges ---- meaning that if you have an alumni who would be willing to judge but only wanted to do the first two rounds - and another who only wanted to do the second two - we are happy to oblige
o This means that we need 1 judge for every 2 entries in LD, PFD, Policy, and World School (or fraction thereof)
o Congressional Debate – 1 judge for every 5 congress entries (or fraction thereof)
- A varsity member who is at least a junior and has over 250 NFL points may judge novice. Their coach is responsible for the quality of their ballots
Meals:
- $0 per entry
Rounds:
o 4 Rounds of Policy, PF, LD and World School
o 2 Rounds for Congressional Debate

- Final entries are due the Monday of the tournament week - judges due by wednesday
- Drops will be accepted without penalty – but it is preferred that they are done as early as possible

- LD – NSDA JanTopic - Space Appropriation
- PFD – NSDA Jan Topic - Drug Legalization
- Policy – NSDA Water Topic
- World School Debate – Prepared Motion: This house believes that the United States ought to ban the use of germline genetic engineering in humans
- Congressional Debate – We will use the entire IHSFA January slate
If you attended one of our Virutal Tournaments last year, you will remember that we used a self created website in order to faciliate the tournament through Jitsi. We will give out copious amounts of information for you and your judges during the week of the tournament!
Award Ceremony - we are going to post the awards well after the tournament. The thought is to get the rounds done and then let individuals head out/home to enjoy the rest of their saturday!
