Hamilton Southeastern Invitational
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Indiana. View manager contact information Hi Coaches!! Hamilton Southeastern High School would like to invite you to the in-person HSE Speech Invitational on February 5, 2022, running concurrently with Hoosier Heartland & Hoosier Crossroads District Debate. This tournament is only open to HH & HC schools. Please update your attendance status as soon as you’re able so that we may prepare our room counts accordingly - thank you! We will be offering 3 prelim rounds and a final in the following events: Broadcasting Discussion Drama Duo Humor Impromptu Informative International Extemp Original Oratory Original Performance Poetry POI Prose US Extemp Contestants may double at their own risk in every event except discussion (and no doubling across the extemps). Deadline for entries will be Wednesday, February 2nd, at 9 PM. Discussion prompts will be posted Monday, January 31st, at 9 AM. Extemp will draw ALL rounds. Impromptu will follow State rules. 7 minutes total to prep and perform.
Broadcasting:
Round 1 (Current 5-Minute News Program including Super Bowl commercial)
Round 2 (2-Minute Prepared Editorial on Artificial Intelligence)
Round 3 (Current 5-Minute News Program including Super Bowl commercial)
Final (On-The-Spot; 2 minutes prep, 2 minutes perform)
Each school may enter up to 4 entries in each of the Individual Speech Events. The Top 40 entries from each team will count toward team sweepstakes. Judge Requirements: 1 judge for every 5 entries (6 entries = 2 judges, etc.) Please help us offset the cost of hosting by purchasing food and drinks. We’re aiming for Speech awards by 3:30 PM. E-ballots WILL be used at this tournament. IMPORTANT: Please ensure that all judges bring a laptop or their phones to submit ballots. Also ensure that judges provide a cell phone number in their Speechwire account in case we need to reach them throughout the day. We will not be able to provide laptops.
