Dear Speech Coaches:

 

We are excited to invite you to the Wayzata Invitational Speech Tournament on Saturday, January 29, 2021.   We would love to host you!

 

We are currently planning on holding the tournament in-person. It is likely that masks will be required for all attendees except when speaking. If either of those things change we will communicate as quickly as we can.

 

Entries/Fees: The cost is $7.00 per entry.  Checks can be made to Wayzata High School, Attn: Speech Team.  Double and Triple entries are allowed, though students should not be entered in more than one draw event or a draw event and discussion. Discussion rounds will be offset by 15 minutes to allow those students to double enter in another prepared event. Categories: We will offer the 13 MSHSL events as well as POI.

 

Judges:  You will need to provide one judge for every six (6) entries or fraction thereof. Uncovered judge slots will cost $100 each.  Please make every effort to provide the required number of judges based on your entries prior to drops.

 

Entry Deadline:   Please submit your initial entries by Friday, January 21st. If you need to make changes, please submit drop/adds on Speechwire by Thursday, January 27 at 12:00pm. Changes can still be made up until Saturday morning, but all drops after 12:00 pm on January 27th will not result in a change on the statement.

 

Awards: We will hold an awards ceremony in the lunchroom but will not call up all speakers. We will announce all names and only bring up the champion of each event to recognize them. We will then give schools their awards to bring home with them.
