General information

This information is from a tournament in a past season!

This is a High School tournament in Nebraska.

Entries: Due by Tuesday, January 18^th. 

-Drops made at or later than 12:01 AM on Thursday, January 20^th will not reduce fees. 

-Adds will be taken up until Friday at 12:01 PM.  After that point, no adds.

-Unlimited entries per event (this means teammates may be competing against each other)

-Limit individuals to entering in three total events.

-We will use SpeechWire for registration and other meet preparations.

-There is novice division

Registration: 7:00 – 7:45 AM

Judges/Coaches Meeting: 7:45 – 8:00 AM

Entry Fee: $7.00 per entry

Judging Fee:  Schools are to provide one judge for every SIX entries.  There will be a fee of $75.00 for every six entries OR

PORTION THEREOF not covered. 

EX: 12 entries – provide 2 judges; 14 entries – provide 3 judges

Awards: There will be medals provided to:

• Top 10 in each individual event / Top 8 for each group event in Varsity
• Top 6 in each individual event / Top 5 for each group event in Novice.

Concessions: There will be concessions available throughout the day.  There MAY be a meal option for students (still being

determined).  There will be a coaches/judges hospitality room available throughout the day with food provided for breakfast and lunch.

Commons Area:  The elementary school gym will be used for commons, as well as finals posting and awards.

Special Note: We are going through a construction phase on the school’s campus.  This will not affect rooms available for use; HOWEVER, it does re-route all pedestrian traffic between the buildings.  All movement from building to building will have to go through the South entrances of both the High School and Elementary Buildings

              7:00 – 7:45 – Registration

              7:45 – 8:00 – Judges/Coaches Meeting

              8:00 – Round 1, Flight A (Humorous, Poetry, Entertainment, OID, Persuasive – SUBJECT TO CHANGE*)

              8:15 – Extemp Draw, Round 1

              9:15 – Round 1, Flight B (Extemporaneous, Serious, Informative, Duet Acting – SUBJECT TO CHANGE*)

              10:45 – Round 2, Flight A

              11:00 – Extemp Draw, Round 2

              12:00 – Round 2, Flight B

              1:30 – Finals, Flight A

              1:45 – Extemp Draw, Finals

              2:45 – Finals, Flight B

              4:00 – Awards

* = Events might change flight to assure the best competition rooms are used for the tournament
