The Annual Chanhassen Snowvitational Speech Tournament

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Monday, December 6th, 2021

 

 

 

The Chanhassen Speech Team invites your team to the Chanhassen Snowvitation. We are excited to offer a tournament rich with awesome experiences for students and judges. We promise to make the weekend enjoyable for all, but we cannot promise snow (although it is likely). We will offer 4 preliminary rounds (single-flighted) with two judges in each preliminary round, so students will get a great amount of feedback from high-quality judges. We will offer semifinals and finals where we will offer our snow globe trophies. The judges will be treated to exceptional hospitality and students will be offered a myriad of meal opportunities (from healthy to not so healthy). We understand that this tournament falls outside the normal Minnesota speech season. It is really intended for Varsity speech members who are prepared for competition before January. We encourage you to bring novices to the tournament to observe the varsity competition. This tournament has a NIETOC bid opportunity too! 

 

Covid: We know that this tournament will be the first tournament back in-person for most participants. We want to ensure safety and also work to create some of the routines that might help us get through an in-person season. This will be a group effort and we will ask for input as the tournament approaches. As of now, we would like to host an in-person tournament where performers can perform without masks, but audience members will stay masked at all times. If anything changes, we will quickly shift to an online tournament.

 

 

REGISTRATION:

The registration Deadline is Monday, December 6th, 2021.  Changes can be made to a team's entry without cost until that date.  After this date, final invoices are printed.  Drops are allowed but NOT refunded and adds are no longer allowed (unless pre-approved by the tournament host).

Semi-Finals, Finals

FEES:

$10 per entry, $20 per duo, no entry limits

 

 

JUDGES:

Each team is asked to bring 1 judge for every 3 entries.

Each uncovered judge will cost the team $100. If judges fail to show up to a round, teams will be charged $50 for each missed round. 

 

 

DOUBLE-ENTERING

Double-entering is allowed in all events.  Triple-entering is not recommended.
