TThe Glenwood High School SISAL Tournament

On Saturday, January 15th, 2022, we will host a speech tournament at Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois.

 

The tournament will offer three preliminary rounds and a final round in each event; however, we will have two preliminary rounds and final round for extemporaneous speaking.  Junior Varsity (JV) finals (for first year competitors and 2nd year sophomores only) will be held if at least four JV finalists remain after determining varsity finalists.  Awards will be given to all varsity finalists, JV finalists, the two top small entry (26 or fewer entries) and top five schools overall.

 

Each school must provide one judge for every six entries or fraction thereof (maximum of seven judges).  The number of judges you must bring AND the fees you owe are based on the PRELIMINARY ENTRY.   If you cannot provide enough judges to cover your entry, then we can hire judges for you for a fee of $80 each.

 

  

1. The preliminary entry should be entered on SpeechWire by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022.

2.  The cost is three dollars per main event. The entry fee should be made to Glenwood High School Speech Boosters.     

3.  Judges can be hired at $80 per judge required, although every attempt should be made to ascertain your own allotted judges.  

4. Entry confirmation should be made by noon on Friday, January 14th, 2022.  

5. On the morning of the tournament, please call with any changes to your entry 

    between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. if possible.  Please call 217-622-2570.  

6. Please address the check to Glenwood High School Speech Boosters. 

7.  Extemp and Radio will prep for all rounds.

8. League dues are $50 dollars to compete at only one SISAL tournament, $150 for the year, or $250 if you are hosting a tournament this year.  Please make the checks for league dues to Southern Illinois Speech & Acting League.
