The Raymond Central High School Central Players welcome you to our 35th Annual Mustang Invitational on January 15th, 2022.

We are pleased to announce that we are a NIETOC bid tournament!!

You may register for events via the speechwire website.  Our tournament will be flighted with registration running from 8:00 to 8:30 am.  A General Meeting will be held at 8:45 am in the Main Gym.

Each school may have up to five entries in each event except for Duet and OID, which may only have two.  Students may double enter in each flight.  NSAA rules will be followed, except regarding the time limit for Informative Speaking, which will have a 10 minute maximum.

POI--We are offering POI this year, but each school may only enter TWO entries.  You all know that we are always tight on rooms.  We want to offer everything we can, so we will do our best.  However, if rooms get tight, POI will be the first event closed down.

Events:  We will be hosting open divisions in Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duet (although Duo will be included in this category and time limit will be 12 minutes to accommodate both), Poetry Interp, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Entertainment Speaking, Extemp Speaking. Program Oral Interp and Humorous Impromptu. If you have any questions on rules for events please see below and/or contact me. There are no novice divisions, but we will give a top novice award in all individual events.

Triathlon: Students many triple enter and be eligible for a triathlon award in any 3 events. Please realize that getting to rounds on time is the speaker’s responsibility and the judge will not wait beyond the start time of the next round for any reason.

Awards: We will be giving awards for the top 12 in EXT, IMP, POE, POI and ENT if entries are over 50 (if under 50 we will break the top 6).  In the NIETOC events of  HI, DI, INF, EXT, OO, DUO awards will be determined based off  of entry numbers (top 12 for a sems bid, top 18 for a quarters bid, etc). In the past we have broken 12 to 18 in these events. Round ribbons will also be given for first and second place only. OID is the only exception to this. We will break the top 4 to Champs, the next 4 to Honors, and the next 4 to Merit for a total of 12 breaks. Championship and runner-up team sweepstakes trophies will be presented.  Triathlon awards will be given to the top three.

You must furnish one judge for every 5 entries or part thereof.  (5 entries = 1 judge, 6 entries = 2 judges)  There will be a $15 charge per uncovered entries.  Remember, if you want to judge, you count as one judge.  All judges must be available for finals.  (Failure to do so will result in a $20 charge to your school.)

There will be two rounds and Finals.  We plan to have two judges present in one of the two preliminary rounds.  This can only happen if you bring your required amount of judges!

Entry fees are $8 for each individual event.  Group entries count as one entry.

Concessions will be available throughout the meet.  Our hospitality lounge will be open and available to coaches and judges.

ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 4:00 P.M. ON JANUARY 13, 2022.
