Welcome to the CG Fall Fest Tournament!

Cary-Grove High School is excited to invite you to compete in a hybrid contest to be held on Saturday, October 30. While we are excited to have the opportunity to compete F2F and have a more traditional season, we are still facing a lot of uncertainty. As we start the season, let's get our students competition-ready with a low-stakes hybrid tournament. Video performances are great coaching tools, and the live Google Meet allows for spectators in the room live at our home schools or at students' homes if your students cannot be present. I plan on using this Saturday as a team bonding experience with everyone watching their teammates who make finals. 😊

I will have novice awards but no novice finals unless we have enough judges to cover finals. Stay tuned on that!

The tournament will feature three asynchronous rounds of competition and a varsity synchronous final round on the 30th. Students will upload a video presentation by Tuesday, October 26. Judges will have Wednesday thru Friday at 8:00 pm to complete judging prelim events. At that time, the tournament committee will break finals and publish final rounds for Saturday morning.

A note on duos: As of now, ISBE and the Illinois Department of Health require that every person over two wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status. Even if students are siblings, we will require that every student in a duo be masked both in the recorded video and in live finals for equity purposes. Again, to compete in duos, students must be masked. If there is a change in rules and guidance from the state, we will notify everyone of that change. Safety comes first.

Students who are in individual events may be unmasked if they are alone in the room. We will follow all guidance from the state the week of the tournament and will be flexible as those regulations change.

Again, this is typically the first tournament of the year for teams in the NW suburbs, so patience and grace will be the keywords associated with this contest. I will close off registration for adds on October 22 at 9:00 pm.  Registration may close sooner if capacity is reached. Schools needing more than three entries per event will be given those additional entries if the slots are available.

Entry Fees:
1-14 entries. $100
15-28 entries. $150
29-42 entries. $200
43-up entries.$225
Fees will be calculated as of October 22.
