Dear Coaches,

We are excited to invite you to the First tournament of the North Florida Catholic Forensic League 2021-2022 season.  This tournament will be held ONLINE, on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, using Speechwire and NSDA Campus (and Zoom for Duo). Verification of LIVE entries on the day of the tournament will begin at 8 am and close at 9 am. Registration for NFCFL #1 will close on Wednesday, Sept. 8th at 4:30 PM.  You have till that time to make any drops/changes without penalty.

HEAD COACHES on the day of the tournament will be asked to verify their entries by marking themselves "present" at the tournament on Speechwire by 9 AM; meaning that all their competitors and judges have checked in with them. The Squad Room, Judges Lounge, Help Room, and Extemp Prep Room will be accessible on Speechwire.  All event round rooms will be made available when the round pushes.

ALL participants, competitors, and judges must have Speechwire accounts and be Linked. NEW competitors & Judges will receive an email with a password to be able to link their account and, for judges, to access E-Ballots. PLEASE VERIFY THIS WITH YOUR STUDENTS & JUDGES BEFORE SATURDAY MORNING.  Please also make certain that each judge has added a phone number to their Speechwire account where they can be reached.

Our tournament will offer a complete day of NCFL events, with novice-only options should enough competitors register to justify the split. There will be a Novice Congress.  Otherwise, the events will be mixed novice and varsity divisions, with recognition being given to the top novices.

PLEASE NOTE At this Tournament ALL EVENTS will be held live (meaning online wrather than video taped) on NSDA Campus or Zoom.

We are in search of presiding officers from among the varsity students to assist for the day with Novice Congress.  While they will not be able to place Varsity POs are eligible to earn service hours for NSDA and will also receive a gavel.

We will have four rounds in all events except Congress, which will have two Sessions. While not required to compete teams wishing to submit Congress legislation for this tournament must send their bills at Google Docs to thechairhighlyfrowns@gmail.com before 10 days out.  At that time the tournament legislation will be finalized on the live doc...

Novices may submit Legislation and the same criteria apply: If a school enters a competitor in Novice Congress, they must submit a piece of Legislation.

Congress Legislation MUST be submitted as google docs using the bill templates available at congressionaldebate.org. The docket for each chamber will be set the morning of by the tournament.
