Welcome to the Second Annual Colorado Dash (for Nats) Online!

This is a labor of love for all of the students in Colorado and beyond.  It started last year as a way to keep students engaged prior to the National Tournament and will continue this year as an opportunity for students to particpate in what is effectively a large scrimmage against talented competition.  We think this could be especially important for students who have not had experience with live competition.

Here are the essentials:

WORLD SCHOOLS ROUND 3 TOPIC - US-Taiwan Trade

WORLD SCHOOLS ROUND 2 TOPIC - NIL

WORLD SCHOOLS ROUND 1 TOPIC - PUBLIC DEFENDERS

UPDATED May 31st: Entires will be accepted until 6:00 pm on June 3rd.  We will run 3 Rounds on Saturday, June 5th in the following Events.

-Lincoln-Douglas (6 entries, 3 schools)

-World Schools Debate (7 teams, 3 schools - we know of at least 2 more teams who may join us from Oklahoma and South Dakota)

-US Extemp (5 entries, 3 schools)

-Extemporaneous Debate (10 competitors, 4 schools)

-Oral Interpretation / NSDA supplementals Interp & Speech Events (13 competitors, 2 schools)

*My apologies for cancelling the other divisions.  We simply did not have enough interest.*

Other Notes:

1. We will require 1 judge for 2 entries in all divisions.  This is essential to ensure the tournament well.

2. Main Events and OI will run in the morning through 1:30 pm.  Extemp Debate will run in the afternoon.  All debates are single flighted so we expect rounds to run fast

3. World Schools Topics will be the first three NSDA Prelim Topics (NIL, Public Defenders, US-Taiwan Trade Agreement).  Sides will be randomly assigned.

4. Our registration fee is $10 for individual entries and $15 for team events.

5. We will recognize the top finishers in all events, but want to emphasize that the purpose of the meet is to help students prepare for nationals.  Recognition is secondary.

All of the above is subject to change depending on changes in the number of entries.  Please check this site frequently for updates!

Warmly,
Mike
