You are invited to the Glades Middle School Debate Invitational on March 13, 2021!

Registration: Registration will be open on SpeechWire until 5 pm on Wednesday, March 10th.

Events: We will offer competition in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Congress, Original Oratory, Informational Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Declamation, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Impromptu, Poetry, and Prose.

The top 6 in each event will be recognized at the awards ceremony after Round 4. Awards will be ponied to schools after the competition!

Rounds: There will be 4 rounds of competition across Speech and Debate. Congress will have 2 sessions and then a Final.

Entry fee: $5 per competitor. Please send checks to Glades Middle School, ATTN: Speech & Debate, 16700 Southwest 48th Court, Miramar, FL 33027.

Judges: You will need to make sure to provide 1 judge for every 5 Speech entries (including Congress) and 1 judge for every 3 debate entries, or any fraction thereof. If you do not provide enough judges, you will be charged $50 per missing judge. We do not want to assign these fees, but we need judges to run the tournament. There is a high school competition on the same day, so please reach out to your competitor's parents, siblings, and relatives to get the judges we need. I appreciate all of you for helping us with this!

All competitors should be READY TO BEGIN by 8:30 am. Rounds will begin at 9:00 am SHARP.
