Dear Section 7AA Speech Coaches:

 

Welcome to all Section 7AA Speech Teams!  

 

Here we are with another season well underway. This letter brings you most of the information needed for our section tournament, Saturday, April 10th.  

Time frame for Saturday, April 10th, is:

 

Registration from 7:00am-8:00am (we will offer a video link for checking in!).

Speechwire closes at 8:00 a.m., so please update before 8:00 on the day of competition

Judge & Draw Meeting: 8:00am

Draws for Round 1: 8:30 a.m.

Speaking in all events: 9:00 a.m.

 

Remember, no double-entering.  Limit of 6 per category. Limit of 39 total speakers.

 

Prior to the tournament, teams will need to submit an updated Community Standard Form signed by your principal. You can find this form on the MSHSL website. A copy should also be sent to the MSHSL.

 

Coaches need to bring scripts with works cited in the categories of: Original Oratory, Great Speeches, Informative, and Creative. Please make sure you also have your Informative students cite their boards (and make sure those citations are clear, as it can be hard to see them on camera). It is required that you bring copies of all interp. selections, even the original script and the cutting. Scripts will be uploaded by coaches to a shared Google Drive. I ask that all competitors have their scripts labeled in the following format: School Name-Competitor Name. The rules interpretation committee may need to see these if there is a dispute.

 

Please bring $20 for additional facility fees and costs for the running of this tournament.
