Hello Speech Coaches!

The RTR Speech Team would like to invite your teams to RTR Virtually Live! 2021. Our tournament will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 “at” RTR High School in Tyler, MN. Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to compete in all 13 MSHSL events.

This is a hybrid tournament. All events will be hosted “virtually live”  with the exception of DUO, which will require video submissions by 11:59 on Tuesday, March 16.

There will be 3 preliminary rounds and a final round in all events. Students in grades 6-9 will also be eligible for awards in a JV division.

Our Virtual Coaches and Judges Room will open at 8:30 AM. Apologies for the lack of refreshments provided this year! Draws will begin at 9:00 AM with first rounds starting at 9:30. DOUBLE ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED!

In addition to individual awards to the top 6 competitors, we will be awarding team trophies to the top 3 point-getters.

2:00 PM  FINALS - Non-Draw Categories

2:30 PM  Draws for Final Round

4:00 PM: Awards! (tentative)

We will be using all stories for storytelling. For discussion, we will have tasks from both sections of the outline. We will be using all selections for Prose Extemporaneous Reading.

Registration:   You may bring as many students as you like and DOUBLE ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED. EVEN ENCOURAGED.

Judges: Please provide one judge for every 6 entries or fraction thereof.  Limited judges are available for hire - please send a separate email to me if you are planning on hiring one. Our judge fee is $100.

Fees: $8.00 per entry.  Duo pairs $16.00.  Make checks payable to RTR Schools.
