Dear Forensics Coaches,

The Denmark and Oshkosh West coaches and forensics teams cordially invite you to join us for the Tom Lynch Tribute Tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 26-27, 2021 held virtually.  Our teams are very excited to be hosting you this year and to welcome you to our tournament!  It should be an exciting competition for everyone involved, a last hurrah before the WFCA state tournament!

ENTRIES:  Your top 25 varsity entries will count toward your team score with a maximum of 4 entries per category.  Additional entries are welcome.  There is no limit on the number of events a student may enter.

VIDEO DETAILS:

Students are to create one video for each category that will be used throughout the tournament.  Exceptions to this include Oral Interpretation, which will require two videos, one for Prose and one for Poetry, and Storytelling, which will need 3 videos (fable, story about finally being heard, story about undead).

Videos must be one single recording with no edits.  The videos may be hosted on Youtube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or other such sites, but it is the responsibility of the coach to ensure that the sharing settings are properly set so that the judges can view them.

Please label the video title in the following format: Student name, Category name

Video titles for Oral Interpretation should also indicate if the video is PROSE or POETRY. Please submit POETRY as the VIDEO #1 link (rounds 1 & 3) and PROSE as the VIDEO #2 link (rounds 2 & 4).

Video titles for Storytelling should indicate which of three topics is being presented.  Video titles for Special Occasion should note the occassion chosen.

LIMITED PREP EVENTS:

Materials for Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu, and Radio Speaking,  will be emailed to coaches on the evening of March 20th.  They will also be posted on Speechwire for coaches to download directly.

Students in Impromptu are to record their combined prep and speaking time (5 minutes total time allowed). Students in Radio and Extemporaneous Speaking will not need to record prep time, just the speaking time.

3 separate rounds worth of material will be provided for the categories of Extemp. Speaking, Impromptu, and Radio Speaking. Students are to record and upload each round separately. It will also be necessary to select which of the three rounds will be used if the student makes it to the final round. The link for that video will need to be copied a second time and entered into the spot for the final round.

GROUP EVENTS:

Students competing in Duo Interp, Group Interp, and Play Acting must record their videos as split-screen recordings.

RULES:  WFCA and NCFL rules will be followed for applicable categories along with allowances for WHSFA cross-over events. Please go over any rule changes with your students and judges prior to attending the tournament.
Rules for all WFCA categories can be found here: https://www2.wfcaforensics.org/images/pdf/WFCA_Category_Rules_2020-21.pdf
