The Conestoga Speech Team cordially invites you and your team to the  Conestoga “Trendsetters” Speech Invitational on Saturday, February 27th.

 

I am changing the format of the tournament for logistics - instead of having a finals round, we will be doing 3 rounds with the intention of having 2 judges in each of those rounds to give your speakers the most ballots possible.  We will run all nine NSAA events (sory no POI, they ordered the awards too soon for me to make that change).  Medals will be awards for 1st-6th place in each event and plaques will be given to the top two sweepstakes teams. After consulting with coaches, we will be doing a single draw for extemp and will use the same video for all three rounds. 

 

Entries are due by 5:00 pm on Monday, February 22.  This year we will be utilizing an asynchronous format so we will not be confined to number of entries or teams. Due to the nature of the "unlimited" entries per event, please note that your students may "hit" during a round, but we will work to try and make sure that doesn't happen.   Drops and adds will be accepted through the 24th, except in extemporaneous.  In order to get questions to coaches, no extempers can be added after the 22nd, but can be dropped through the 24.  All videos must be uploaded to Speechwire no later than 6 pm on Thursday, February 25th.  If you need more time, please email or text me and we will make arrangements. Fees for the tournament will be $7 per slot and an additional $15 per uncovered slot.  Each judge you provide will cover 6 slots.  Additionally we will be instituting a $10 base fee to cover mailing cost of medals/plaques.  Please make checks out to Conestoga High School and mail to 8404 42nd St. Murray, NE 68409.

 

***Judges - your prelim rounds will be released to you sometime on Friday, February 26th.  I ask that you please complete your rounds by 11 am on Saturday.  

 

***Awards - We will be either using Zoom or YouTube to post awards. I will send out updated information as the day of the tournament draws nearer.

Specifics, especially with Extemp and how finals will work, are all tentative and subject to change.  If changes occur I will let you know.  I apologize in advance with the numerous emails you will probably be getting from me as the day of the meet draws nearer.
