Virtual Hybrid Meet for grades 6-12

Draw events and Discussion will be synchronous (live on Feb. 20). Other categories will be asynchronous with videos turned in by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. As we move through the season, we may tweak the process, so we will keep you posted via email. Please mark early that you plan to participate, so you will get the updated information. 

Deadlines

Registration for all events is due by Feb. 16 at 11:59 p.m. Judges will be locked in at that time. Video links for the asynchronous events are due at this time too.  Adds for synchronous/live may be added until 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19. Drops for Saturday events can be made up until 7 a.m., Feb. 20.  You may enter as many students as you would like in the meet.  Double entries are allowed in all events except for Discussion, Extemp. Reading, Extemp. Speaking, and Storytelling. 

Registration is all done through Speechwire. There are many tutorial videos on the Speechwire site that are helpful in guiding you through this process. 

Judges: Each school will be required to provide one judge for every six entries and every fraction thereof; Judges should be available to judge asynchronous videos between the time of Wed., Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. Judges should also be available for Saturday live events. 

Fees:  $8.00/Entry, $16.00/Duo.  No team fees. Please make checks payable to Adrian High School and mail to Adrian High School, Box 40, 415 Kentucky Ave., Adrian MN 56110

Awards:      Awards 1st-6th, plus awards for students in 6-9 who do not place in varsity. Honorable mention ribbons will be given in varsity and junior high. We are trying to give junior high students recognition for their work because many of the junior high meets are not happening this year. 

Draws:     Students will draw selections for all three rounds at the beginning of the day.  Draws are from the entire listing of selections in extemp reading and storytelling. 

Discussion: Tasks will be taken from the subsection part of the outline. The time and format for the tasks will be determined later. You will be emailed further details.

9:00 AM         Draws will draw for the day, all three rounds.

                 9:30 AM         Round 1

                       11:00 AM        Round 2

                       12:30 PM        Round 3

                 2:00 PM         Awards Program. Format to be determined.
