The Rushville Consolidated High School Speech Team invites you to our tournament on January 23rd held virtually on NSDA Campus & Speechwire

 

Registration is available on speechwire.com until Wednesday, January 21st. Drops will be available online until Friday, Jan. 22 at noon; after that, please email them to lemmonsh@rushville.k12.in.us. 

 

Students may double at their own risk in all events EXCEPT discussion. We will offer all IHSFA speech events.

 

Broadcasting contestants need to prepare a five-minute news program to be used for both rounds 1 and 3 that includes a music intro and outro as well as a commercial.  Round two will be a  two-minute ORIGINAL (written by the student based on research and his/her own opinion) editorial. Round three will be 2-minute on the spot with 2-minute prep during the tournament.  Specifics for commercial, editorial, and music will be updated in “Files for Download” this weekend.

 

Discussion will use the Socratic Seminar format and topics will be released the Sunday prior to the tournament through Speechwire.

 

Awards are scheduled to begin around 3:30 on either Zoom or Google Meet.

Please provide 1 judge for every 5 entries. 

To help cover the tournament expenses, we are charging $1/entry ($2 per duo entry).
