The Montville Township High School Forensics Team would like to invite you to our annual Invitational Tournament on Saturday, February 27, 2021! Check in time for all teams will be from 7:45 AM - 8:30 AM. Also, there will be a mandatory judge meeting at 8:30 AM. Round 1 is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM, and we are planning to hold awards at 5:00 PM.
This will be our first-ever virtual tournament utilizing Speechwire, NSDA Campus, and (for final rounds) Zoom! We will be offering competition in 14 different events:

Declamation
Dramatic Interpretation
Humorous Interpretation
Oral Interpretation
Program Oral Interpretation
Impromptu Speaking
Improvisational Acting
Informative Speaking
Duo Interpretation
Extemporaneous Speaking
Public Forum Debate (N, JV, V)
Lincoln-Douglas Debate (N, JV, V)
Parliamentary Debate
All events will be live; however, in order to ensure a safe and level playing ground for everyone, all competitors must compete in different physical locations.
Registration is now open! You can register a maximum of six entries per school per category. Additional entries will be placed on a waitlist until February 15, 2021, when we can review additional entries based on tournament size.
DEADLINES
Registration Opens: Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 12 PM.
Entries Due: Friday, February 26, 2021 at 6 PM.
Drop Fees Begin After: Friday, February 26, 2021 at 6 PM.
FEES
Checks should be made payable to Montville Forensics and must be mailed to c/o Janice Nasisi, Montville Township High School, 100 Horseneck Road, Montville, NJ 07045.
School Registration: $25
Individual Speech Event: $10
Duo Entries: $15
Parli/PF Debate: $20
LD Debate: $15
Late Add/Drop Fee: $10
Missing Judge Fee: $100
JUDGES
Speech: One judge is required per 5 speech competitors, or fraction thereof. No student judges are allowed in speech.
Debate: One judge is required per 3 LD debaters, or fraction thereof. One judge is required per 3 PF teams, or fraction thereof. Student debaters with at least 2 full years of experience may judge Novice LD or Novice PF only; however, these judges need to be marked as "student judge" in their judge notes. Student judges cannot be used to fulfill obligations for PF or V entries. Please let your judges know that they are obligated for the entire tournament, including potential final rounds. If you have judges who are able to judge without conflict, please mark them as "clean' in the drop-down menu. Finally, in order to ensure a smooth experience, please train your judges in the category they are registered in prior to the tournament.
EVENTS
PF and LD will have four prelim. round, with a possibility of finals if time permits. All speech events will have three prelim. rounds and then a final round.

Legislation for the New Jersey District Congress Tournament should be submitted to our District Chair, Ms. Mary Gormley at marytuff@aol.com. That legislation can be found on this site and Tabroom under file uploads beginning on February 20th.
