You and your students are cordially invited to the 2021 Marian High School Black Book-a-Thon Speech Tournament to be held on Friday, February 12, 2021.

 

We will be hosting a remote tournament through Zoom; all events except for duo will be live and synchronous. Please submit split screen videos for DUO. More info to come on submission of videos for DUO.

 

Triathlon: Students many triple enter and be eligible for a triathlon award in any 3 events. It is the student's responsibility to get to all rounds on time.

 

Awards will be given for Finalists, Top Novice, and Sweepstakes. 

 

Entries Due by Tuesday, February 9th at 4:00 p.m. Drops will be accepted on Speechwire through Thursday.

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS INFORMATION 

 

Events include the following: Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, DUO (please note this is DUO and NOT Duet Acting. NSDA time limit and rules for DUO will be enforced), Poetry Interp, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Entertainment Speaking, Extemp Speaking, and Program Oral Interpretation.     

 

NSAA rules will be followed for all events except for DUO. NSDA time limit and rules will apply for DUO.

 

The time limit for informative will be 10 minutes.  

 

Entry Fees

Individual Event entry: $8.00 per entry

 

Entries will only be accepted through Speechwire.com. 

 

Judges

We request that all judges be competent and experienced. 

One judge per every five Individual Event entries.

$15.00 for each uncovered entry.
